The National Broadband Network (NBN) is intended to provide fast broadband for all Australians. Network construction commenced in 2011, and many Australian premises are already connected using fibre optic cable; however, future connections will be provided using fibre in combination with one or more of the technologies described above.
Most Internet Service Providers will have an NBN option in their plans.
NOTE: The speeds offered will depend on the service delivery mechanism in your area, including the extent to which the NBN uses FTTP, FTTN and HFC.
